Bennington Soccer Club - Director of Coaching Position

  • Overview 

    • Oversee player development, guidance, and coaching responsibilities for Bennington Soccer Club 

    • The DOC reports directly to the Board of Directors

    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and ADOCs on an ongoing basis, serve as technical and tactical liaison 

      • DOC will be expected to provide a formal report to the board on a quarterly basis

    • Develop, implement and disseminate club curriculum and player development plan; this methodology is meant to provide a framework for coaches and players alike, maintaining what is being both taught in learned in a respective age and/or playing level

    • Perform other duties as may be delegated by the Board of Directors

    • Paid compensation for part time position

 

  • Coaching

    • Responsible, in conjunction with ADOCs, for ensuring all coaches are oriented in the club’s training methodology and coaching curriculum

    • Work with coaches to make sure they understand club guidelines; aid in the creation and development of sessions that are consistent with the club’s curriculum

    • Maintain communication and establish coaching feedback loop throughout the course of fall and spring seasons

    • Willingness and ability to attend training sessions throughout the course of respective seasons

    • Coordinate educational opportunities for club coaches both in and out of season, encourage staff to pursue continuing education opportunities

    • Manage ADOCS and delegate tasks to ADOCs as deemed necessary

  • Player Development

    • Design a player-focused educational framework and process that is supported by a written player development curriculum and training methodology aligned with respective club-wide goals; This plan should be tailored accordingly to level of play (Developmental, Competitive, etc.) and age

    • Create a relevant and engaging player, coach, and team training environment where players can maximize their potential in all key pillars of the game (technical, tactical, physical, and psychological)

    • Plan, organize, promote and implement evaluations/assessments, team formation, and training schedules for Developmental and Competitive teams

    • Organize and facilitate supplemental skills camps and clinics for players, particularly during the off-season

  • Qualifications

    • Licenses: minimum of USSF D license or United Soccer Coaches National Diploma

    • Experience: 4 years coaching experience or equivalent

Bennington Soccer Club - Assistant Director of Coaching Position for Competitive

Coaching Duties:

1. Actively promote and act as a spokesperson for all of the BENSC U9 – U19 age groups.
2. Identify and recruit individuals who have interest or the potential to coach at the Recreational/Competitive and Premier Level.
3. In cooperation with the Director of Coaching, provide initial education and on-going training for all BENSC coaches.
4. In cooperation with the Director of Coaching; plan, develop and participate in Winter/Summer training academy clinics.
5. Establish guidelines and training priorities for U9 – U19 age groups.
6. Participate in training sessions with the U9 – U19 age groups.
7. In cooperation with the Director of Coaching- assist in the development of viable training plans which promote age appropriate development.
8. Promote and educate players and parents in the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of the game.
9. In cooperation with the Director of Coaching and the assessment committee, develop and conduct player assessments in the Spring moving from Developmental Level to Recreational/Competitive and Premier Levels of Play.
10. Be on site and act as a representative of the BENSC during U9 – U19 training sessions.
11. Be on site and act as a representative of BENSC during BENSC U9 – U19 home/away games.
12. Attend board meetings and other club sponsored activities. Provide appropriate updates regarding the U9 – U19 age groups.
13.Perform other duties as may be delegated by the Director of Coaching and/or Board of Directors.

Administrative duties: (in cooperation with the Club Administrator)

1. Work with Club Administrator and all ADOC to form teams based on a list of registered players.
2. Responsible for recruiting and identifying coaches for each U9-U19 team (new teams in the fall and updated each spring).
3. Create a field map assigning developmental teams practice and festival field locations.
4. Communicate with all coaches a list of team players, contact information, shed door code, coaches meeting dates/time and any other pertinent information.
5. Communicate with all parents the team coach and player roster.
6. Communicate with all coaches and parents weekly practice dates/times, festival dates/times, and field map.
7. Main email/communication liaison for the U9 - U19 age groups.
8. Perform other duties as may be delegated by the Director of Coaching.

Bennington Soccer Club - Tourney Director Position

  • Overview 

    • Plan the yearly BENSC Spring KickOff Cup​

    • Be in attendance the weekend of the tourney each year

    • Set up the registration software (TeamSnap Tourneys) for the tournament and do all score reporting the weekend of the tourney

    • Coordinate with NSS to be an affiliated tourney and announce tourney on website and email blasts

    • Coordinate with NSS and NYSL to have a referee assignor on hand for the tourney weekend

    • Coordinate with other board members and volunteers to make sure all aspects of the tourney are being completed

    • Volunteer board position
