What do U4, U6, U8, and U9 mean?
U4—Under Four League: Child must be 3 years of age before 8/1/09 and cannot be 4 years old before 8/1/09
U5—Under Five League: Child must be 4 years of age before 8/1/09 and cannot be 5 years old before 8/1/09
U6—Under Six League: Child must be 5 years of age before 8/1/09 and cannot be 6 years old before 8/1/09
U8—Under Eight League: Child must be 6 years of age before 8/1/09 and cannot be 8 years old before 8/1/09
U9—Under Nine League: Child must be 8 years of age before 8/1/09 and cannot be 9 years old before 8/1/09
How are the teams selected?
After registration closes, the coaches attend a draft where players are selected. Every effort is made to evenly distribute players among the teams based on age, gender, and ability level.
When will I know my child’s team/coach?
Teams will be formed a few days before the first practice and though coaches strive to contact all players prior to this, please come to this practice even if you have not heard from him or her.
Where are the soccer fields?
The soccer fields are located west of 156th Street, on the north side of Bennington Road between the elementary and high school.
How will I know if a game has been canceled?
The BSC Board will make the determination based upon field conditions, so please check the website prior to game time.
How long are the games and practices?
U4 League: games consist of 2, 10-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time. Practices is the first 20 minutes on the game day. - 45 minutes total
U5/U6 Leagues: games consist of 2, 20-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time. Practices last for 45 minutes.
U8/U9 Leagues: games consist of 2, 25-minute halves with a 10-minute half-time. Practices last for 1 hour.
